Bio
I seem to have been born with a never-ending curiosity about how things work. My professional background is in computer networking, systems integration, and network management. I’ve been in management for the past 7 years, but continue to keep my technical skills up to date.
Being outdoors brings me peace, so I like to golf, practice golf and snowboard. I’m blessed to live close to work and near an urban trail, so I can walk/bus, or bike to work. I’m working on my longboarding skills and will soon skateboard to work.
My other interests include Wing Chun Kung Fu, movies (I really miss CineVegas), and exploring the Southwest. I also enjoy spending time Downtown participating in #VegasTech activities.
If you look at the right-hand column on this page, you’ll notice some of the organizations I support. I think the common theme is I’m sticking up for people and animals who can’t stick up for themselves. Please give some thought to what’s important to you and find an organization or two to support. There’s a lot of need out there, and you’ll feel good making a difference
Experience
I spent 10 years with a telecommunications company starting out building the system’s operations center, and then moving to our hospitality division where my department was responsible for delivering interactive services to hotel guests in many of the world’s largest hotels. Interactive services we provided included video on demand (VOD), high-speed data, VoIP and IPTV.
It was a lot of fun, but I decided to move on to a position in the public sector as an IT manager for a government contractor performing information security functions for the NNSA. The job didn’t turn out the way that I had hoped, but now I’m with a managed services consulting company. I am loving this job, building a new company, hiring a team, setting up our software tools, and working with clients to help solve their problems.
